Guess The Emotion

Guess the Emotion is a social cognition task designed to assess participants’ ability to recognize and interpret facial emotions. The task begins with a brief animated tutorial. On each trial, participants view an image of a face and are asked to:

  1. Identify the facial emotion displayed, choosing from five options: Happy, Sad, Anger, Fear,
    and No Emotion
  2. Rate the intensity of the emotion using a slider ranging from 1 (No Emotion) to 7 (Very Intense)

Customize:

  • Number of trials per session
  • We provide custom image integration if you would like to use your own image set.
  • Option to mute all sound alerts during the task

Data collected:

  • Correct count: Total number of correct trials
  • Number of errors: Total number of incorrect trials
  • Median reaction time (for correct trials)
  • Fastest reaction time (for correct trials)

Validated:

This test has been used and validated in multiple populations such as serious mental illness.
